Since becoming a tenure-track assistant professor in 2018, the PI has become a leading figure of promoting STEM education for graduate, undergraduate, and high school students, especially from under-represented groups. Former and current undergraduate students Grant Korensky, Kenneth Hass, Chad ten Pas, Henry Yuqing, Jacob Waitkus, Justin Silva, and Jimmy He all published either journal or conference papers with us. Our former high school student Wimeth Dissanayake also submitted a first author paper from the research in the 3N Lab. The team now has 4 female Ph.D. students.
Our lab has sponsored two Capstone Projects with the Rochester Prep High School. See the University news here: https://www.rit.edu/news/rochester-prep-high-school-students-share-their-capstone-experience
Theodore Roosevelt 43 school students visit 3N lab and check out our research work. The kids were so engaged in our projects and we ended up of giving food dye samples to them as gift.
